Air cooling can be achieved by simply letting air circulate around the battery cells, which is least effective; or by using a fan to increase the airflow. Some systems can also use the vehicle’s air conditioning unit to chill the air before it goes to the battery. Air cooling overall is simpler than liquid cooling, and the system weighs and costs less, but it isn’t as good. Not many vehicles use it, but one that does is the Nissan Leaf — although the upcoming Nissan Ariya EV is expected to use liquid cooling.

Vehicle fires make up around 16 percent of the average 1.3 million fires reported to US fire departments each year . Understanding how vehicle fires occur, what to do in the event of a vehicle fire, and ways to prepare for vehicle fires can help you stay safe should your vehicle catch fire.

If water enters the engine it can lead to bad things. If there’s water in your engine, it leads to compression issues because there’s no place for the water to go. Piston rods will begin to bend and eventually break. When a piston rod breaks, it’ll likely take a chunk out of our engine on the way out, most likely out of the bottom of the engine, though it could come out the top of the engine, too.
Check the belt for wear using a belt wear gauge. If the belt is worn, replace it. Next, try to recreate the conditions when the belt squeals (first thing in the morning when the engine is cold, when you accelerate, etc.). Start the engine and spray a stream of water on the ribbed side of the belt before it wraps around each pulley. If the noise disappears but comes back in a few minutes, the belt or the components it drives are misaligned. That’s not something you can fix on your own. Take it to a shop. If the noise gets louder after the water spray, the belt has too little tension. If your vehicle has an automatic belt tensioner, replace the tensioner. If it has manual tension adjusters, tighten the belt slightly and re-test.
A traditional combustion engine utilizes combustible gasoline processed from crude oil to set off a spark plug inside the engine pistons. This, in turn, pumps the pistons and generates energy, which powers your car. Obviously, water is not combustible — if anything, it's the exact opposite of combustible. So, how could you use water to power a means of propulsion?
